Hello and welcome. Let me tell you a little about myself.
I began my career writing short stories and novels. I am now writing psychological thrillers under the moniker, M.S. Berry. I have been published internationally and have won some awards for my writing. I teach creative writing online at the University of Toronto and some of my novels have been optioned for film. Right now "The Prisoner and the Chaplain" is in development. For three years before covid I owned and operated an Independent Bookstore in my hometown, Peterborough, Ontario. For two years I also delivered books to customers who ordered online after the physical store had to close. It was called Hunter Street Books.
I have served as a juror many times, for example with the K.M. Hunter Award , the Canada Council, the Ontario Arts Council, the Journey Prize Anthology (with Timothy Taylor and Michael Winter) and the Bronwen Wallace Award (with Natalee Caple and Andrew Pyper).
I have also done some editing work as an associate Editor of Fiction for Blood & Aphorism and as a newsletter Editor on the Board of Directors for PEN Canada.
I served on the Author’s Committee with the Writer’s Trust of Canada and was second Vice-Chair of The Writer's Union of Canada. I was on the board of PEN Canada for many years.
Throughout my career I have been lucky enough to teach creative writing. I'm an Adjunct Professor at Trent University and a part-time online teacher and mentor at the University of Toronto in the Continuing Education department. I have taught and mentored at the University of Toronto/New York Times and also at Humber College, Trent University and what used to be called Ryerson University.

I live with my husband and our dog (a border collie/Australian shepherd/lab cross called Maybe), who has her own Instagram page which combines her dog photos with famous images: https://www.instagram.com/Maybe21art. See the photos below. And I am the proud mother of two adult daughters.
